GPO Heavylift is proud to have successfully completed the transportation of the 400-foot jack-up drilling rig Noble Regina Allen from the Netherlands to Argentina. The operation was carried out by the semi-submersible heavy-lift vessel GPO Grace, delivering the rig safely across the Atlantic in preparation for its upcoming contract with TotalEnergies on the Fénix project offshore Tierra del Fuego.

A Complex and Coordinated Operation
Transporting a rig of this size and configuration required detailed engineering, careful ballasting, and precise coordination. The Noble Regina Allen was safely loaded onto GPO Grace in late March 2024 following its maintenance and contract preparations in the Netherlands.
Once securely fastened and sea-fastened, GPO Grace began the long voyage southward, navigating through variable Atlantic weather conditions and across the equatorial regions before approaching the southern hemisphere en route to Argentina. The transportation operation reflected the complexity and precision typical of heavy-lift transits of modern offshore drilling units.
