Supporting Offshore Construction with Global Heavy Transport Expertise
GPO Heavylift is pleased to announce the successful completion of a major heavy transport project on behalf of Seatrium, involving the relocation of two semi-submersible hull units from Angra dos Reis, Brazil to Singapore. The transoceanic operation took place during May and June 2024, showcasing GPO Heavylift’s capability to manage large-scale, dual-cargo deliveries over long distances.
Project Overview
-
Cargo: 2 × Semi-submersible hull units
-
Client: Seatrium
-
Route: Angra dos Reis, Brazil ➝ Singapore
-
Period: May – June 2024
Complex Dual Transport Across the Globe
Transporting two semi-submersible hulls simultaneously required extensive planning, precise ballasting, and close coordination with Seatrium’s engineering and site teams. Each hull, designed for offshore applications, demanded careful placement and weight distribution aboard GPO Heavylift’s semi-submersible vessel to maintain stability and structural integrity across the 10,000+ nautical mile voyage.
Throughout the journey, GPO Heavylift’s offshore and marine crews maintained continuous monitoring and communication to ensure safe transport through varied oceanic and weather conditions.
Enabling Global Offshore Development
Upon arrival in Singapore, both hulls were delivered to Seatrium’s facility for further outfitting and integration into their offshore construction program. The operation illustrates GPO Heavylift’s proven expertise in supporting the global offshore and energy industries with reliable, project-tailored transport solutions.
Commitment to Safe and Efficient Heavy Transport
This project reinforces GPO Heavylift’s experience in handling some of the world’s largest floating structures across continents. By combining advanced vessel capabilities with specialized engineering and operational excellence, we continue to provide trusted logistics support to leading offshore construction and fabrication companies worldwide.
